The ducts at the outer corners of the G87's front bumper are painted black plastic, and on a car this compact they sit right in the line of sight.
A direct replacement for the factory ducts, built from autoclaved 2x2 pre-preg dry carbon fiber. Sold as a matched pair, left and right, finished together so the weave and gloss match side to side.
Sits below the CS-Style Carbon Fiber Front Grille and beside the Front Bumper Vent Trim. All three plus the front spoiler come together in the Carbon Front End Bundle Kit. Directly behind them, the Carbon Fiber Radiator Cooling Shroud carries the same weave into the engine bay.
Pre-preg carbon arrives with the resin already impregnated into the weave at a controlled ratio, so no resin is added by hand during layup — that is what makes it dry carbon. Curing it under heat and pressure in an autoclave consolidates the laminate and drives out trapped air that would otherwise show as flaws in the finished surface. Other processes introduce the resin at the mold, so the ratio is set during layup rather than before it.
Ducts are small parts carrying a lot of internal geometry — tight radii, deep returns, and edges that wrap out of sight. Those are exactly the areas autoclave pressure reaches, so the laminate consolidates as evenly in the corners as it does on the face.
