The Explorer's tailgate is a wide, flat panel, and nothing from the factory breaks it up.

A Feral Auto design, not a copy of any Ford part, built from premium 2x2 twill carbon fiber and shaped to sit on the mid-trunk face below the glass.

The same wing is offered in FRP for owners who want it painted to the body rather than showing weave.

Finishes the rear alongside the Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler and Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser, and it is one of the six pieces in both Carbon Fiber Aero Bundle Kits — Sport and Track. Those kits are 2025-2027 only because of their front-end parts; this wing on its own fits 2020-2027.

Why Carbon Fiber

This part has a job the others do not: it moves. A mid-trunk wing is mounted to the tailgate, which means every time that tailgate is opened and shut the wing is swung, stopped and loaded again — several times a day on a family vehicle, for years.

It also spans most of the tailgate's width with support only near its ends. Span plus repeated load is precisely the combination that works a flexible part loose at its mounts until it starts to sit crooked, and crooked on a symmetrical tailgate is immediately visible.

A stiffer part holds its mounting geometry through that cycle, which is what keeps the gap along the top edge even on both sides after a couple of winters.

Returns require our approval. Contact us within 5 days of receiving your item to request one. Approved returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee plus return shipping, and original shipping is non-refundable.

Items that have been installed, used or modified cannot be returned. Non-standard carbon finishes are non-returnable once the order has been placed.
