2020-2027 C8 Corvette Carbon Fiber Engine Hatch Vents (Stingray, Z06, E-Ray, Grand Sport) - Coupe

On a C8 Coupe the engine sits under glass, and the two vents flanking it are the frame around the best view in the car. From the factory they are painted plastic.

This is a direct replacement, not a modification. The vents mount to the factory locations and reuse your factory mesh grills using your existing hardware — nothing to drill, nothing to cut, nothing permanent. No additional hardware is included, and none is required.

Built from autoclaved 2x2 pre-preg dry carbon fiber in a 3K 2x2 twill weave that matches the factory carbon look, and sold as a matched pair, driver and passenger side. These sit directly over the engine bay and take real heat and constant sun, so they are finished with a UV-inhibiting, high-temperature-resistant clear coat built for that.

A Matched Pair, Not a Single Vent

This is where the Coupe and the Convertible part company. A Coupe has an engine hatch to vent, so it takes two vents that have to agree with each other across the deck — finished together so the weave runs the same way on both sides, which is the thing you notice from behind the car. A Convertible has no hatch there at all and takes a single Convertible hatch vent instead. The parts are not interchangeable in either direction.

Why Autoclave Pre-Preg Dry Carbon Fiber

Pre-preg carbon arrives with the resin already impregnated into the weave at a controlled ratio, so no resin is added by hand during layup — that is what makes it dry carbon. Curing it under heat and pressure in an autoclave consolidates the laminate and drives out trapped air that would otherwise show as flaws in the finished surface. Other processes introduce the resin at the mold, so the ratio is set during layup rather than before it.

A pair is harder than a single part. Both pieces sit inches from the engine, inches from each other, and any difference in how the two cured shows up as a mismatch in gloss across the middle of the car. Curing them in the same run is what prevents it.
