The M5's side profile is its longest uninterrupted surface, and from the factory the rocker is painted plastic that reads as filler between the wheels.
This is a Feral Auto design, not a copy of any BMW part, built from premium 2x2 twill carbon fiber and shaped to sit tight against the factory rocker so the car reads lower without the add-on look. Sold as a matched pair, driver and passenger side.
Pairs with the Carbon Fiber Front Spoiler, which carries the same design language into the front end, and the M Performance Style Rear Diffuser, which finishes the same lower line at the back. All three are included in the Carbon Fiber Aero Bundle.
Carbon fiber earns its place over factory plastic on three counts. It holds a crisp edge where plastic softens and rounds off. It resists the flex and sag that makes a long lower part look tired after a season. And the weave is the finish itself rather than a coating applied over it, so a scuff doesn't expose a different color underneath.
Side skirts are the longest single part you can change on this car. Anything that sags or waves along that run is visible from fifty feet, which is why rigidity is the whole job here.
