FRP is what most painted aero has been made from for decades, and it is the right answer when you want the shape in your car's own color rather than a carbon weave. It is strong, light, takes primer and paint evenly, and it is straightforward for a body shop to repair — which is not true of carbon.
On a roof spoiler in particular, body colour is often the better look: it keeps the roofline reading as one continuous line rather than breaking it with a second material.
